Chitwan National Park Jungle Safari - 3 days
Nepal is renowned in the world over for its biodiversity, diverse terrain, and unique cultures. One of the many tours that explore all these treasures is the Chitwan National Park Jungle Safari. Chitwan National Park which covers around 932 km. sq. in the south-western Nepal is the ultimate destination for wildlife and cultural exploration.
The park in Terai is perfect to explore the natural wonders, wildlife, and adventures. The 2 nights 3 days tour is an exhilarating experience offered all year around. The safari covers the vast, lush green forest on elephant back for the rare animal sightings.
The famous species include crocodiles, tigers, one-horned rhinoceros, and deer spotted during the safaris. Bird watching is another favorite with the different species of rare birds found in the area. Pythons, grey langur, leopards, and rhesus monkeys are also seen during the Chitwan National Park Jungle Safari.
Chitwan National Park is a paradise for nature lovers to experience beauty and wildlife. The main attraction of the trip is the Jungle safari on the elephant back as we enjoy the wilderness. Other accompanying activities are canoe rides, jungle walk or jeep drives.
Apart from being a safari, the tour is also an enjoyable cultural tour to the Tharu villages in the region. We get to be a part of their unique culture and lifestyles as they treat us with warm hospitality. Various dances and events by the locals entertain the guests.
Day 1: Kathmandu to Chitwan
From Kathmandu, we drive to Chitwan early in the morning. The drive takes several hours to reach the destination. We will receive you at the arrival point and transfer you to your hotel. In the evening, we enjoy the sunset view from the river and visit the elephant stables and Tharu village. As we enjoy our dinner, the locals entertain us with their cultural dances and rituals. We spend the night in one of the hotels around the national park.
Day 2: Explore Chitwan National Park
We start our tour right after breakfast. We visit the national park and spend the day exploring the beauty and biodiversity of the region. The national park was enlisted as UNESCO natural heritage site in 1979. There are one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tigers, elephants and crocodiles in the jungle. We get to witness the rich ecosystem with mammals, reptiles, birds and water animals. We can visit the elephant breeding center and watch the elephants taking a bath. There is also a crocodile breeding center we can visit. After having an eventful day enjoying the wilderness, we spend the night in one of the hotels.
Day 3: Jungle Safari and Return to Kathmandu
This is the exciting day of the tour as we get to experience the fun and exciting Jungle Safari. We ride on the elephant backs and enjoy the natural safari. We encounter the Bengal tiger or the one-horned rhinoceros if we are lucky. We can also watch different birds out of the 450 species found here. After exploring the park further, we return to Kathmandu via the same route.
