Trishuli River Rafting

Trishuli is one of the most famous rivers in Nepal for a thrilling rafting experience. Adventurers visit Trishuli more often due to easy access from Pokhara and Kathmandu. This trip is a natural and cultural adventure combining rafting with Chitwan tour.

Trishuli River originates from Gosaikunda, one of the sacred Himalayan pilgrim sites. According to legend, the river was formed by Lord Shiva by striking a rocky mountain with his trident. This created three springs as the source of the river and hence giving its name – Trishuli.

Trishuli with its exciting rapids is considered one of the best rafting spots. One day trip covers a distance of about 17 km with a thrilling rafting experience. The best season for rafting in Trishuli is monsoon with challenging rapids and whirlpools. Charaudi is the starting point (put-in point) of the trip whereas it ends in Kurintar. Those who seek a calm and peaceful getaway can enjoy the beaches and the shallow river.

The rafting is big and bouncy but also safe as there are few accidents during normal conditions. January-May and September-December are the best times of the year for rafting in Trishuli. People enjoy the natural beauty, bio-diversity and cultures of Nepal during the rafting trip. The beach camps are wonderful getaways for a few days.

The rafting trip can also include a detour to Pokhara or Chitwan. We take a drive to Chitwan National park on the same day where we visit Tharu villages and enjoy their dances. Elephant Safari, canoe rides, bird-watching and other fun activities are available in Chitwan. The trip is a wonderful experience that combines adventure with peaceful environment, culture, and nature.
