From its wild forests and shaded footpaths to deep valleys, Langtang Valley is fascinating in every possible way. It displays a landscape like nowhere else, along with rolling hills, glistening glaciers, and snow-capped mountains.
Nestled at 15,000 ft high in central Nepal, Langtang Valley is scenic with swirling pastures, medieval villages, gushing waterfalls, and lofty hills. The village looks like another utopia, bursting with traditional villages, Tibetan monasteries, and mani walls.

After the ride, we’ll take a long walk to Mundu, passing through forests and aloft the valleys before arriving at Kyanjin Ri.
Upon sightseeing the splendid views, we’ll retrace our steps down to Lama Hotel. The following day, we’ll climb down the hill and arrive at Syabru Besi before taking a drive to Kathmandu.

Langtang Valley Trek 11 Days Itinerary:
As foreseen, our staff will receive you at the airport on the day. With the sweet welcome greeting, they’ll drive you to the hotel and accommodate you up to the reception. Following the long trip, we’ll let you ease off and maybe take a stroll of the streets later. As you please, we can even stop by the local restaurant to try some authentic Nepali dishes or instead return to the hotel.
Today, we’ll take over Kathmandu city to visit as many iconic places as possible, especially those listed in UNESCO heritage. Early in the morning, we’ll visit Pashupatinath Temple and observe the prayers before heading to Boudhanath Stupa.
Sited 2.3 km far from the sacred temple, Boudhanath Stupa is dome-shaped with prayer flags all around. Visitors can hear the hum of monks while taking a walk through the pilgrimage. We’ll explore a bunch of historical monuments such as Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Kathmandu Durbar Squares, which reflect medieval times during the day.
These ancient sites are crammed with old palaces, courtyards, stone statues, narrow laneways, and shrines. They also display the old Newari culture and heritage with wooden carved temples, which look impressive. After exploring the major attractions, we’ll drive you back to the hotel before dinner time.

To get the Langtang Valley Trek 11 days started, we’ll take a full-day drive to Syabru Besi. The journey takes off from <a href="https://himalayasonfoot.com/things-to-do-in-kathmandu/">Kathmandu</a> via Trishuli-Dhunche Highway, which offers a spectacular view of rolling hills and gorges.
We get an impressive view of Himalayan ranges throughout the trip, including Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, and Manaslu. On average, the ride lasts from <strong>7-8 hours</strong>, traveling through the buzzing street of Dhunche and to Syabrubesi.
Being a gateway to Langtang Valley, the village is alluring with picturesque hills, roaring rivers, and waterfalls.

On this day, we’ll make a journey to Lama Hotel from Syabru Besi, hauling almost <strong>7 miles</strong>. At the start of the trail, we’ll cross the suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi River and gently climb uphill to Bamboo. The path ahead follows a series of lanes and the forested area to turn up at Guru Rinpoche Gomba.
The entire trek takes about <strong>5-6 hours,</strong> passing over the steep hills and small settlements to Lama Hotel. Seated at <strong>2,470 meters </strong>height<strong>,</strong> Lama Hotel is incredibly charming, with plenty of local tea houses and primordial monasteries.

For the fifth day of Langtang Valley Trek 11 days, we’ll hike up to Mundu that takes about <strong>6-7 hours. </strong>Stretching <strong>9 miles</strong> from Lama Hotel, the trail winds through dense forest, occasionally providing glimpses of Langtang Lirung. From Ghora Tabela, the course mends its way through the dense forest and above the valley besides lofty mountains.
Leaving behind the village, the trail climbs the hill and then widened valley with meadowland. Most of the sections here are rugged and filled with rocks, which take a bit more time, depending on the pace.
Finally, after walking for almost <strong>7 hours, </strong>we’ll arrive at the small village of Mundu. Although the trek to Mundu is grueling, it pays off great with a mesmeric view of snow peaks and hamlets. Overnight stay is in a tea house in the village.

From the outset of Mundu, our trail walks the forest path and above the steep hill to Kyanjin. Out of here, we walk over the meadows until the valley opens wide, with the scenes getting more evident and overwhelming.
We'll spend most of our day scrambling the craggy hills and moraines to make it up to Kyanjin. As our trail passes the old monastery, the trek gets a bit tougher with continuous uphill.
At this point, we start to feel the low atmospheric pressure in the air, causing us to slow the pace. From here, we climb uphill for quite some time and eventually make it to Kyanjin, which is also our dwelling for the night.
After the strenuous walk of the last day, a day off is well worth taking a rest and exploring the beautiful village. After having an authentic Nepalese breakfast, we’ll set on a short tour of the town and explore the significant cultural landmarks.
To make the most of the day, we'll take a scenic walk up to Kyanjin Ri, which unfolds stunning views. The trails are uphill and wearying but worthwhile with the mesmerizing sceneries of the rolling hills, impressive highlands, soaring peaks, and rocky hills.
Standing at <strong>4,850 meters,</strong> we get to glance at the towering mountains, shimmering glaciers, and ice cliffs. On a whim, we may also stop by the famous <strong><em>cheese factory of Kyanjin</em></strong> and even try a bit of it. After the sightseeing is done, we’ll return to the village and prepare for the next day’s trek before calling it a day.

Following the day-off at Kyanjin, we’re now off to Lama Hotel, whose trails are mostly downhill. Compared to the previous, walking the path is a whole lot easier, this time with sloppy hills. We’ll start tracking the route up the valley and the Langtang Khola until arriving at Mundu Village.
Following the rugged trail and sweeping valleys, we’ll descend to Ghora Tabela, which provides a sublime view. Walking a few miles from here and we’ll be at Lama Hotel is our stopover for the night.

After breakfast, we’ll head towards the trail that has us moving down the hill to Syabru Besi. The trek begins with the walk through the wooded land and peaceful downhill paths to Rimche. On the way, we’ll go past the beautiful Sherpa village and terrace farm up till reaching the delightful Syabru Besi. Overnight stay at a tea house in the town.

After more than a week at Langtang, it’s time for us to bid goodbye to this stunning village and head back to the valley. Once we have breakfast, we’ll drive to Kathmandu through the enchanting Trishuli river and Tamang village.
Steering beside the lofty hills and local markets for around <strong>7-8 hours, </strong>we’ll finally arrive at Kathmandu. From here, our staff will drop you at the hotel where you can freshen up and get some sleep.
