Lukla Flight Diversion
You will have to take the Kathmandu to Lukla flying route for the Luxury Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek. However, during the peak trekking season (spring and autumn) months, there is the probability of the flight getting re-routed from the Manthali Airport in Ramechhap due to heavy traffic congestion in the Kathmandu to Lukla route.
So, to catch the morning flight from Manthali Airport you will need to wake up at around 1:30 to 2:00 AM to take the 5 to 6-hour drive from Kathmandu to Ramcechhap. You can also drive there the night before to avoid the hassle of waking up at midnight for a long drive.
The re-routing entirely depends on the traffic volume for that particular flight and the decision of the airline. There is also a helicopter flying option for this route; you will need to pay around US$ 550 per person to take a comfortable flight from Kathmandu to Lukla.
