Short Itinerary

Poon Hill Trekking Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Fly to Pokhara from Kathmandu, drive to Ulleri, then trek to Ghorepani

Flight Hours: 25 minutes Drive Duration: 2.5 to 3 hour Walking Hours: 4-5 hours Max Altitude: 2,860 m On the first day of your 5 Days Poonhill Trekking, you will board a morning flight to Pokhara from the Domestic terminal at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). In this short 25-minute flight, you will be able to enjoy the enchanting diversification of high hills, deep valleys, gorges, soaring rivers, and sparkling white Himalayas on the right side. You will take a break at Pokhara upon your arrival and prepare for the second part of this day’s adventure. From Pokhara, you will board a comfortable and convenient vehicle making your way toward Ulleri. You will drive past the beautiful landscapes of Nayapul and Birethanti before arriving at Ulleri; after getting out of the vehicle, you will stretch your legs and take a breather before proceeding with the trekking trails up ahead. Moving on the ascending stone steps, you will trek on the comfortable trekking trails heading toward Ghorepani from Ulleri. This day’s trekking trail will be blessed with incredible views of Himalayan peaks like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Macchapucche, and Hiunchuli as you move past the lush rhododendron and fir forests to reach Nanghethani. From here, you will continue your trek on the ascending trail to finally arrive at Ghorepani, a beautiful Magar village with several teahouses.

Day 2

Hike up to Poonhill(3200m) and trek to Tadapani(2630m)

Walking Hours: 6-7 hours Max Altitude: 3,210 m We will begin this day’s expedition early and trek to Poon hill which is the viewpoint of a wonderful sun-rise. The entire region is surrounded by snow-capped peaks rising above the horizon. The whole of Annapurna range is visible from here. We will then trek towards Tadapani through a forest blossoming with spring flowers. Overnight stay at Tadapani.

Day 3

Trek down to Ghandruk (1,940 m, 3-4 hrs)

Walking Hours: 3-4 hours Max Altitude: 1,940 m From Tadapani we continue to Chhomrong from where the trail descends through forests to Gurjung Khola and then the trail ascends slightly until Kimrong. Then we reach the top of the Deurali. Ghandrunk is a village of Gurung people, one of the ethnic groups of Nepal; they have their own culture, costume, and life style. Ghandruk is one of the most famous destinations for trekkers known for its beautiful mountain views. We will spend the night in Ghandruk.

Day 4

Drive from Ghandruk to Pokhara (810m; 4 hours)

Drive Hours: 3 - 4 hours Max Altitude: 1,940 m Bidding farewell to the trekking trails on Day 4 of your 5 Days Poonhill Trekking expedition, you will board a convenient vehicle from the traditional Gurung village of Ghandruk. You will drive past the scenic landscape in the Ghandruk- Birethanti- Nayapul route, passing several charming traditional settlements before arriving at the city of the lakes. After getting refreshed, you can use the rest of the day to explore the fascinating highlights of this tourist hub. Tal Barahi Temple, Shree Bindhyabasini Temple, International Mountain Museum, Sarangkot, Phewa Lake, Gupteshor Mahadev Cave, Davi’s Falls, World Peace Pagoda etc are some of the major highlights of this vibrant city that you shouldn’t miss during your exploration. Overnight stay at a star hotel in Pokhara.

Day 5

Pokhara to Kathmandu by flight (1400m; 30 mins flight)

Flight Hours: Approximately 25 minutes Max Altitude: 1,400 m We will leave early on this morning to Kathmandu. Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. You can rest or explore the surrounding areas. We will spend the night in Kathmandu.
